Air Guitar World Championships - AGWC - is an event concept of entertainment and showmanship. Since 1996, the contest has gone worldwide with massive international press coverage, several official national championships as well as tons of devoted fans. In addition to live audience, the event reaches millions of contacts via international media coverage every year.
Air Guitar World Championships is an internationally protected trademark and a creative brand with unique niche appeal – for world peace with zero guitars. According to the ideology of the Air Guitar ”wars would end, climate change stop and all bad things disappear, if all the people in the world played the Air Guitar.”
The air guitar phenomenon goes far beyond the event, and it has inspired filmmakers, authors, academic researchers and journalists for over two decades – not to mention the devoted fan base that keeps on rocking in the free world for 365 days a year.
